Self-crosslinking of Tannic acid (TA) was accomplished to obtain poly(tannic acid) (p(TA)) particles in single step, surfactant free media using sodium periodate (NaIO4) as an oxidizing agent. Almost monodisperse p(TA) with 981 ± 76 nm sizes and −22 4 mV zeta potential value ellipsoidal shape obtained. Only slight degradation 6.8 0.2% observed at pH 7.4 PBS up 15 days because the irreversible covalent formation between TA units, suggesting that hydrolytic is independent from used amounts oxidation agents. were found be non-hemolytic 0.5 mg/mL concentration not affect blood clotting mechanism 2 concentration. Antioxidant activity investigated by total phenol content (TPC), ferric reducing antioxidant (FRAP), trolox equivalent capacity (TEAC), flavanoid (TFC), Fe (II) chelating activity. showed strong capability comparison molecules, except FRAP assay. The antibacterial micro-dilution technique on E. coli Gram‑negative S. aureus Gram-positive bacteria are more effective over 50% inhibition 20 attained.
